Precision driving at up to 247 km/h: Vodafone’s sponsorship of the McLaren Mercedes F1 team is a vivid realisation of its brand promise ‘make the most of now’.

Client: Vodafone | Release Date: May 2007 | Tasks: Creative direction, art direction, design.

Precision driving at up to 247 km/h: Vodafone’s sponsorship of the McLaren Mercedes F1 team is a vivid realisation of its brand promise ‘make the most of now’.

And no one lives that idea more than iconic drivers Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. Tasked with increasing awareness of the sponsorship and brand, we put the drivers at the centre of our campaign.

Vodafone mobile in hand, they sent exclusive reports of life on and off the circuit. We pinned their posts on to a Google Map. As the season unfolded, the map got busier and the content more diverse with images, interviews, videos, comments. We travelled backwards too, tracing the drivers’ path from racing go-karts to joining the team.

Site users not only get a rare, evolving insight into an extraordinary world, they can also create their own journeys, picking out turning points in their lives.

And it worked. Only three months into the F1 season we saw 400,000 visitors to the site, with over 1.6 million page views and more than 1,800 people adding their own journeys.

Client: Vodafone | Release Date: October 2006 | Tasks: Art direction and design.

Following the Vodafone sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League 2006-07 we developed this campaign to support this activity and promote some of the new mobile services that Vodafone was offering to its customers.

In order to represent all the football related services that Vodafone offers you through your mobile phone, BBH came up with the ‘Magical Messengers’, a bunch of tiny little imps that bring you the latest about the UEFA Champions League it doesn’t matter wherever you are.

For the Internet campaign we decided to create the ‘Champions Chase’, a competition where you need to find and chase the Magical Messengers in order to win your chance to get free tickets for the Champions League.

Horizon is a BBC Two documentary programme about popular science and natural history. Despite having run continuously since its launch in 1965, becoming a BBC classic amongst the British audience, nowadays the series are facing a progressive lost of spectators.

This site design was only a small part of a much more ambitious winning pitch. We were commissioned by the BBC to fully review the series including the creation of a new identity, titles sequence and even style guidelines for the series video edition.

Red Nomad was a small new digital agency gathering a whole team of largely experienced professionals.

In order to create its first corporate identity we come up with five key principles that define a nomad and therefore should define the brand too. The logo needed to be wheathered, crafted, simple, restless and slightly cheeky.

We tried to merge all these five principles using the concept of a signature. In this case the signature meant to represent what a nomad always leaves behind when the journey continues. A signature reflecting the experience of the nomad, a well crafted individual mark and a simple symbol to represent the inner personality. The strong use of the nomadic sense also represented the permanent movement and the spontaneous creativity that we wanted to communicate.

As part of an ongoing redesign process BBC History was building a new timeline of British history, from the Neolithic to the present day. The timeline served three distinct functions, providing site users with an at-a-glance chronological context of historical events, reinforcing the site strategy of ‘graded entry’ into history and providing a simple and intuitive guide to where the BBC History site content is.

From the creators of cult game ICO, Shadow of the Colossus is an absolute must-played experience and one of the most important releases for PlayStation in 2006.

Randommedia won the pitch commissioned by Sony Computers Entertainment Europe to develop the game site and also the online advertising promoting the title. The banners design is inspired in the game site (designed by cat’s lover and superb designer Xyn Xyu and coded by Liam Walsh) and aims to communicate some of the key points of the game as the vast landscapes, its unique colour palette or the scale of the colossus.

Tiscali is the main Independent European Internet Communication Company and has one of the largest and most interconnected IP networks in the world with over4.7 million active users.

Our design proposal was selected by Tiscali to push their new ‘broadband + talk’ bundles through their Tiscali Broadband website.

The objective was to introduce all the different Tiscali broadband products, explaining the benefits that the ‘broadband + talk’ bundles would offer to the user. The tone of voice had to be informative and very simple to understand at a first glance.

Unibet’s business concept is to provide reliable online gambling and to build value by delivering entertaining gambling products and excellent service.

Unibet is one of the largest online gambling and sports betting sites in Europe. The quick increase in their business volume due to some recent acquisitions and a successful activity of its own website grew the necessity of re-designing their then current Internet site.

We came up with an ambitious proposal based in the idea of entertainment and money betting. We presented a completely new look for the brand using a very vivid colour palette to colour-code the different sections, re-organizing the layout to improve the information architecture of the site and creating a very customizable user-interface to encourage return visits creating a one-to-one communication channel.

By the end of 2004 SEGA Europe was experimenting a kind of golden age in terms of business. To reflect this success, the growing number of published games and the fast increase of the news stories about the company it become necessary a re-design of the corporate site.

In order to full fill the highly demanding technical requirements of this project we created an extremely flexible structure that allowed the site administrator to easily change the layout of the different sections in a matter of seconds, always thinking about the future potential necessities of the site and its different territories.
To achieve that goal without compromising the design we created strong design guidelines to ensure a correct future development of the site and other online communications such as special promotions, emails or newsletters.

This was a fantastic project that above all gave our team the opportunity to create a whole brand new SEGA Europe online corporate identity that acted as a host for all the other different products and online communications from the company.

One by one the insidious Kuroya fall, their deaths silent and fast. Two female ninjas, one driven by honour, the other by revenge, will execute bloody punishment this night…

Everything that is ever been good about this fascinating series of videogames was pretty much intact in ‘Tenchu: Fatal Shadows’.

The brief was all about Ninjas, some cool-looking moves and characters (two fascinating female ninjas), a magnificient adherence to Japanese tradition and above all mistery and darkness. And that is exactely what we tried to communicate with the website.

Sports Interactive produced the best football management sim ever made. They pulled a performance out of the bag that led to awards and a place in the all-time-best-sellers charts.

The recent acquisition of Sports Interactive by SEGA forced the publisher to entirely re-brand the game (formerly Championship Manager) in what become a colossal communication challenge and a future great success. The site contributed to this campaign supporting the online communication and clarifying the brand transition.

Since history began, castles have provided the backdrop to some of the most dramatic battles of all time… “Worms Forts: Under Siege” puts you in command of a crack team of up to four fort-dwelling worms.

To promote this really entertaining title from SEGA/Team17 we came up with the idea of developing a mini-game with a strong viral element. The result was this real fun battle game that you could play against your friends using your email to challenge them and the game site to set your strategy.

Worms 3D continued the history of turn based strategy featuring a bizarre and outlandish array of deliciously explosive weaponry, mad animals, crazy speech and laugh-out-loud instances, in 3Dimensions!.

Worms 3D was a major release for SEGA and we wanted to celebrate it with a guerrilla website that would bring loads of fun to its visitors.

We built a 24 hours changing website containing not only information about the game but also small interactive pieces such as an insult generator, a shooting mini-game or a viral element titled ‘undercover operations’ that would allow you to send some funny jokes to your friends or colleagues. The cute worms animations spread all over the site also were a great contribution to the project.

The site was entirely developed in Flash and was awarded with a ‘FWA Site of the Day’ distinction.

The brief talked about the Route 66, big lorries, rude truck-drivers and beautiful babes. We mixed a bit of everything, added some western music and created an interesting way to navigate throughout the sections/locations of the Route 66.

This website took Bacardi Breezer’s irreverent attitude online, while allowing users to interact with the brand to a far greater degree than ever before.

The challenge was to re-design the 18 months-old Bacardi Breezer website and to convert it into a real one-to-one communication channel, heavily focusing on promoting the brand and specially some of its new products. The chosen proposal was a colourful new website which changed colour depending on the flavour of the drink the user picked, with lot of room for brand communication and for products display.

Interactive elements on the site included a movie generator, where users could mix their own Bacardi Breezer movie using clips of Tom the cat from the brand’s TV ads. These could be downloaded as screensavers or sent to friends as emails.

In summer of 2002 Tom cat was the brand icon of Bacardi Breezer. He was given star treatment and became a regular on the red-carpet and celebrity party scene.

Following the successful release of the UK site, we were commissioned by Bacardi Breezer to create a virtual universe for Tom cat. The result was Tom’s World, a website where you could follow Tom’s nightlife adventures through a night urban environment which was created from the point of view of a cat.

Net2u was a brand new digital design agency set up by four young but experienced people coming from very different professional backgrounds and with the unique objective of creating the best quality design solutions.

This was the first site of the company and in order to balance the lack of company portfolio we decided to create a hugely impacting interactive experience that would engage our potential clients and would launch a good first impression of the new company.
